About Me

Welcome to my blog

I started this blog in April 2012 so I could join Challenges. I am now on some design teams. I hope you like my cards. I started stamping in 1995 but my cards are still mostly cute.
Thank you to those who have joined as followers and to those who comment.
Unfortunately because of spammers I have had to put moderation on the comments. I will approve them as soon as possible, this also means I don't miss any.
I don't always get a chance to reply to all comments but I read them all when I approve them and I really appreciate you taking the time to give your comment.
The lovely banner was made especially for me by Amanda at Faery Ink Art & Design when I won her first blog challenge. family:";">http://faeryink.com/product/granmargaret-fairy-digital-stamp/

Be careful what you wish for

Be careful what you wish for.  I have just been on two weeks leave from work and I was wishing that I didn’t have to go back to work yesterday.

I was only at work a short time when my boss and the lady from personnel in head office came to see me and advised me that I had been made redundant effective immediately as they were restructuring the library.

So now I am a lady of leisure with no money to enjoy it, still I have lots of craft supplies to keep me going for the next few years.

I have been working for The Salvation Army for nearly 24 years but because I have only been working part time for the last two years the redundancy pay is only very small.  Still every little helps.

I won’t be looking for another job as I am too old now (will be 68 in April) and my health is not good.

I am happy to be at home.  I am just living today and leaving the future in God’s hands.

I will have more time to make my cards.  I am just sharing a very quick card I made to send in the post last night to a cyber friend in the Bear Lovers Stamping Group.
I used a lovely cute image "Ellie and Cookie" which is a digi stamp by Sherri Baldy from Scrapbook Stamp Society.  Dark pink card behind layered onto light pink card embossed with Cuttlebug daisies.  Stampin Up sentiment.

My card for CAS (E) This sketch No 12.

This is my card for CAS (E) this sketch
http://casethissketch.blogspot.com.au/

This is the sketch and we had to create a clean & simple (CAS) card using the sketch
I used light pink and dark pink card.  Paper from Authentic 6x6 bundle collection "Uncommon".  Martha Steward deep edge punch "Garden Trellis" and Make it Crafty digi stamp "Sitting Jane" which I coloured with Tria markers (pink & blue), copic marker (skin) and another marker (yellow).  I had to stop myself putting some flower brads in the fence as I usually do that when I use this punch.
I cleaned my scanner but it is still putting black marks on my scans.  It must be scratched from some of the embellishments.
I found this challenge on Therese's blog.

A new craft club blog has started and this week is the first challenge.
Here is my card for the Muse Club's first challenge
http://musecardclub.blogspot.com.au/

This was the inspiration card by Amy Kolling.  We had to use something in our stash and not purchase anything new.  As I have enough supplies to last a lifetime this was easy to do.

I was inspired by all the elements of Amy's card and I used Crafts Too embossing folder "butterflies frame" which has a square frame.  Striped paper from Basic Grey Marjolaine paper pad.  Yellow flowers punched with EK Success medium flower punch and green leaves punched with Martha Stewart leaf punch.  Stampin Up sentiment.  Thank you to Amy for her inspiration.
